HackCrawl
A downloadable game
HackCrawl is a hack of Luiz Bills's quick and fun draftCrawl system, released under a CC BY 4.0 license.
In HackCrawl, players procedurally generate dungeons and fight their way through the monsters that live within. In every new room you could find treasure, traps, or creatures to be defeated. Combat is quick and streamlined, requiring only a few dice rolls to determine hits and damage. Tables for generating random encounters and treasure are included.
HackCrawl's art is simple and whimsical to match the lightness of the rules. The rulebook is presented as one page in a foldable mini-zine format. HackCrawl includes optional print-and-play cards that represent player classes and enemies encountered, as well as providing assistance with tracking hit points and treasure.
All of the assets are about the size of a deck of cards, so HackCrawl is portable - all you need are the rulebook, the cards (optionally), a few d6, pen/pencil and paper.
The first version of HackCrawl includes suggestions for character advancement over multiple play sessions, as well as a little setting and background for the introductory dungeon.
